Rear main seal is leaking.

Place your bets. Will it reseal itself on a little time, or will the tranny need to come out for the fourth or so time?

I'm betting the transmission comes out for the fourth time, sorry.

My dad's mechanic buddy who worked on the Dart with me told me that after we went through the engine, put it back in, and the rear main was leaking, that it would just seal itself up after a couple weeks of driving.
4 years later, it still drips...

Seems like there are two schools of though. My dad says to wait and see if it swells up. My brother, the mechanic, said the tranny will need to come out.

The new seals don't work like that, they don't swell, they are made of neoprene. The side seals on the aluminum block will swell some if they are made of the old cork style but they should still seal right off the start. If you do take it back out make sure you check the crank for a wear groove that may be there from the old seal and use some good brand silicone on the side cork seals or use the new neoprene ones they sell from 440 source. I am also a mechanic.

All of the mechanics seem to agree on this one!

Funny how the body color looks different in different light.

Awesome! It looks so much better on the steelies than on those Magnum 500s! (But I'm an admitted hater of those.)
Overall, it has a much tougher look. I like it a lot!

Yeah, I'm with you, Ryan. I had road wheels / Magnums for about 14 years on several Mopars. I'm tired of them.

This is funny, at least to me... Some six pack guy crapped on my car in a Mopar Facebook group. Nothing like a little unity among the underdogs of the car world, right?

"You should have done that to a plain Coronet."
